Sam and Dean must fight these IRL Demons in Season 12

Throughout their 241-episode run, Sam and Dean have faced vampires, fairies, shape shifters, werewolves, Leviathans, a scarecrow, and even the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse themselves, just to name a few. The “official” website listing the demons Sam and Dean have taken down isexpansive, to the point where I wonder how long we fans have until the Winchester brothers run out of fictional evils to defeat so we have a few suggestions for some actual, real-life demons Sam and Dean could hunt in Season 12.

2. Leslie Jones’ Trolls

Kid Cudi’s rehab stay for depression is an amazingly heroic act

image

On Tuesday, Oct  3, Kid Cudi announced that he was checking himself into rehab for depression and it has sent ripples through the music world and beyond.

In his Facebook post, Cudi repeatedly apologized for disappointing fans — but he’s actually done the opposite.

“I feel ashamed. Ashamed to be a leader and hero to so many while admitting I’ve been living a lie,” he wrote in his Facebook post.

But really, coming forward in this way is a heroic act, when considering that there are only a handful of hip-hop artists, including Kanye West and Lupe Fiasco, who have publicly addressed — in their music and in their personal lives — their problems with anxiety, depression, and suicide.

Check out how his announcement has already made and impact.

This lawmaker wants YOU to take a “virginity test” if you want to attend college

image

That’s right ladies — this is Egyptian member of parliament Elhamy Agina, and he wants women seeking college admission to undergo “virginity tests.”

He and his officials would personally oversee the results of the test. And if you “fail?” He’ll immediately notify your parents.

Doesn’t that sound like a fun violation of sexual freedom and rights? Learn more.

Women, and sadly girls, get messages like this every day. They’re sexist and just one of the many ways patriarchy holds women to impossible standards.

To highlight just how normalized these little quips are, photographer Rora Blue turned these comments into a photography series called “Handle With Care.”

In honor of Hobbit Day, here’s how you can live your most ‘Lord of the Rings’ life

As you may remember from the beginning of “Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring,” September 22 is the shared birthday of two of our favorite Hobbits, Bilbo and Frodo Baggins. And as if that wasn’t reason enough to celebrate, the American Tolkien Society also declared this date National Hobbit Day back in 1978, to honor the Bagginses’ contribution to Middle Earth.

We’d love to hop right on a plane to Hobbiton to join the festivities, of course, but Transatlantic travel can get a wee expensive. For the Halfling-at-heart with a budget, here are 19 ways you can live your most Tolkien life everyday.

For starters, you should definitely eat often.

PCOS has ruined my life — which is why women like me desperately need a cure

I’d learned about periods in school, but no one prepared me for this. I woke up freezing, my 12-year-old fuzzy-haired legs wet with blood. My bed looked like a crime scene, so of course I jumped up and screamed for my mother.

My mother acted like bleeding that much is normal for women.

“Go put a pad on,” she said.

Yet, bleeding enough to fill a swimming pool didn’t make sense in my young mind. My mother took me to my first OBGYN appointment soon after. The gynecologist diagnosed me with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), a endocrine hormonal disorder that impacts over 5 million women, according to The PCOS Foundation.

But this is more than just a medical condition — it is a life-altering condition.

This is my story.
